couple pics of a burned out stator, and a rewound one. notice the area circled in red in the first pic. these are toast.
fairly obvious in the second pic of the replaced parts.

Stator corp out of Mass.
Looks like they just spliced the wire and rewound only 2 poles 
heavier gage wire maybe?
On second thought, maybe those 2 are for the ignition and the rest are for lighting/charging

uhh, that was the second time i had it done, so he cut me a deal. Its less than $200. to get rewound though.
