Anybody know the correct amount and procedure for lube replacement on an 02 sportsman 500 with demand drive? Doing the front hubs on it.

If you haven't done it yet Rob

Each hub holds 2 oz ........ level is either 3:00 or 9:00 position

Fill at the 12:00 postion

And use nothing but demand hub oil or you'll fuck the cage & brgs ......... Cha Ching !

dunno.gif service dept sent me a sheet with all capicities and it called out for 5oz. But how the fuck do you accurately measure out 5oz from a qt bottle and get it that little hole? dunno.gif So I just went with the fill at 5oclock and then turn to 3 oclock untill it stops running out. Thanks for the info though. 0.gif

Measure it in a Ratio-Rite then pour it into a lil funnel with a hose attached. news.gif

this shit kinda like trying to pour mid Jan snot at -30. So much of it hangs up in the funnel and hose so I wasn't sure how to get enough in it.

Warmin-up chaincase oil helped with that on the sleds, used to set it on top the garage heater. 1rof1.gif

what little nozzle???? they sold me a full qt bottle with a screw on lid about 1.5in dia with a foil seal on it. NO LITTLE NOZZLE. So now do you have any more smart reply's there master of the parts counter?? snack.gif

Not sure if those are made on our machines or not, haven't sold a new machine for 'em anyways. Way back, prolly 15 years ago or more, at my old job at the mold shop we did the molds for the new sylish gallon jugs that had the Polaris and Victory plaques in the panels. Did the new quarts too, but they were fancier than the bottle shown in this thread.
