hey evryone

i have a 1988 arctic cat couger 500 f/c and it has now spark right now so im woundering if anyone knows how to test the stator,cdi box and the coil like resistance test

Aside from swapping out another CD box, there's no sure fire test for the CDI. Process of elimination is test for resistance ohms from the stator & coils which you'll need the spec's from an A/C dealer or manual. Quite possible someone on here will have the spec's.

Have you tried eliminating the key, stop switch, shorted plug caps and fouled plugs ?

Would be my first place to check. New plugs, maybe new caps. Had them go bad before. Unplug the kill switch. That doesn't work, unplug the key switch. Agree with you on the rest. Need a book or numbers from a dealer to find out your proper ohms. And then you need the proper way to test them too. Electrical issues suck.

ya i have tryed new plugs and unhooking the kill switch and it dont have a key so i gess i will run to the AC dealer and find out the specs
